Kidney Success: Coach donates to player
Wake Forest freshman outfielder Kevin Jordan started his collegiate experience in a dialysis machine. He needed a kidney badly and doctors could not find a match, until his head coach Tom Walter found out he was compatible.
This wasn't a case where Jordan grew up with Walter, or Walter is best friends with Jordan's parents. It was just an opportunity for Walter to do something amazing for someone else and basically saved Jordan's life.
Jordan has not played one game for Wake Forest, yet Walter said he'd do it for any of his players or former players.
This is one of those sports stories that puts life in perspective. Sports are just games, yet so many life lessons can come from them.
Jordan has been drafted by the Yankees.
Many people say they'd give a kidney for someone, this is a story of someone who actually did it.
